example: a porn popup ad pops up, you don't click on it, but the website ends up in your address search bar even though you clicked the exit box on the popup. sometimes, the same website is in the address bar several times. is that possible???? i keep finding porn sites on the address bar, my husband says they are popups but i have never seen a popup when i'm on the computer.|||yes, it is possible. these can be 3rd party cookies that are manipulated (via scripting) to plant themselves where ever they want. to stop this kind of crud do this: in your browser got to tools%26gt;internet options%26gt;privacy%26gt;advanced: here under 1st party cookies, check 'accept' %26amp; 'allow session cookies' under 3rd party cookies check 'block'.
you should also get your firewall settings and browser security raised. hope this helped|||Doesn't sound likely, I suspect that he is going to those porn sites|||Even if it was a pop-up, he clicked on it. Doesn't show up in the address bar unless you visit the site.|||Got to agree with shadowkat.|||Sorry to tell you but your husband's going to porn sites. Okay, not a big deal (it's really not, every guy does until he gets bored with it). But the same thing happens with game sites, cheat code sites, etc.
To clean your computer and prevent pop ups, viruses, hacks, etc:
Download free AVG AntiVirus: http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1
%26gt;%26gt;run this first
Then download free Ad Aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaw…
Make sure you have your firewall on and clean your history:
Tools%26gt;Internet Options%26gt;General Tab%26gt;Delete Cookies%26gt;Delete Files%26gt;Clear History
I clean my comp after doing research in questionable sites for my business, never know what's there. My son was in a gaming site awhile back before I loaded AVG and almost wiped my comp out! AVG and Ad Aware are the best of the bunch and they're free with almost daily updates.
Good luck and don't get too mad at your hubby!
