I have norton and it stopped a high risk virus, it also gave me the ip address and i think the zip code (56035) I guess its a zip code but anyways are there any sites out there where i can type in the IP and it does a location search?|||Ain't gonna do you a bit of good. It's at best an ISP I.P. addy and the ISP will NOT let you trace it any further unless you have a court order..|||It will return the address of the owner, the issuing ISP. Probably not the same town, may not be the same county, state, or in some cases country. And the number is just the prot number used to send the virus. And it is no good tracing it, do you really think an attacker would be stupid enough to directly attack from his own machine? They use an invisible attack to infect someone else's machine, then relay that on, eventually using a very remote machine down the chain to carry out the destructive attacks.|||Simply perform a whois query on your computer or online, for example at http://whois.domaintools.com
Keep in mind that the host in question is most likely simply infected with a virus itself, without the owner even knowing about it. Also, a whois query will not point you to a specific person or address, which you seem to believe.|||Probably the best IP trackers:
http://www.ip-address.org
http://www.ipaddresslocation.org
http://www.find-ip-address.org|||http://www.ipligence.com/geolocation
try the above site|||alot of sites you can get, like whatismyip.com and so on.|||http://www.ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/
