How do I delete addresses in the memory of ADDRESS BAR and SEARCH BAR?

I have been visiting different websites whose addresses remain intact in the memory of ADDRESS BAR and SEARCH BAR. How do I clean/delete those addresses in both the BARS.|||Click 'Tools' menu on your home page, click 'Internet Options', on 'General' click 'Clear History'.|||Thanks for answer. The above attempts got no success.

|||Go to the address bar or the search bar.

Just press down till you've highlighted (but not clicked) on the address or the old search term and press delete.

To be on the safe side you can also clear history by going to

Tools

Internet Options

Clear History

*note - clearing history doesn't clear the terms it just clears the history of you visiting them.|||If you have Windows XP, against the Yahoo Search space, click on the pull down menu options arrow, select 'Options' and then check 'clear search history'.

Besides this, click the 'Tools' option of your Internet Explorer, select 'Internet Options', and click on 'Clear History', 'Delete cookies' and 'Delete file', and clear the history, cookies and files respectively, one after the other. All this has the effect of removing the record of sites you had visited.

However, by deleting cookies and files, you would have to wait for a few seconds more for any sites that you would visit thereafter, to reinstall the necessary cookies/files that facilite easy surfing of the sites.
