Where did my address search go when I click on internet explorer, it is missing and i have looked everywhere?

My computer has been having issues tonight and recently when I went to the top of the screen where you usually type in your web address is now completely gone and filled in with a gray space . I clicked on view toolbars and went through all of the options and nothing has worked so far. Does anyone have any idea where that search bar went?|||Try reinstalling your browser. This should fix it. If it does not try running an anti-adware program such as Ad-Aware. Sounds as if a type of spyware/toolbar did not install correctly.
